Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Washable Mascara Makeup, Volumizing, Lengthening, Defining, Curling, Multiplying, Buildable Formula, Very Black, 1 Count

Not much needed
If you add more than one coat it can clump up. First picture the mascara is on both eyes.The other two shows my Right and Left eyes marked. I had the mascara on just the Right eye. Left is my natural lash.I wore it the whole day and it did not flake. Removing it wasn’t too hard either. I just have to get used to not using so much so that it won’t clump up.

This isn’t the one.
I have a complicated relationship with mascara. I don’t exactly love it, but I kinda need it because my lashes are so light blonde that when I don’t wear any, I look like I don’t even have lashes. One complicated aspect of our relationship is either they change, or I do. I LOVED Tightline by It Cosmetics – even wore at my wedding – but they changed the formula and the product was drying up in less than two weeks. I wore the super cheap Essence waterproof mascara for a couple of years, then it started irritating my eyes; they could have changed something, or maybe I developed an allergy; I’m not sure. I even thought I had found a holy grail in Lancome’s Définicils, but then *I* changed my esthetic and decided I wanted to wear brown to meld better with my strawberry blonde hair.That’s how I arrived here. I watched a strawberry blonde Tiktoker discussing her makeup routine, and she uses this in brown. She said it was a true brown, instead of a black-brown like most mascara companies make – which is kind of insulting to us, the customers who want/need a brown, but the companies think we’re unsure of this and the difference between black and black-brown is not even noticeable when you have it on. 🙄 I don’t know if I would consider this a “true brown”, it’s definitely not black, but it lacks the warmth and brightness of a true brown – like the brown of Cabaret’s mascara (which is beautiful, but doesn’t go on well and clumps terribly). The Sky High has a similar applicator, but the formula is much better – more smooth and creamy and not clumpy at all. It’s also a tubing mascara, which, if you haven’t tried a tubing, you don’t know what you’re missing! It stays put, but comes off with just warm water and a gentle tug. That is the biggest reason I’m giving it four stars: it DOES lengthen a LOT, without clumping or adding too much volume (I’m not a fan of the voluminous mascaras, myself; I prefer one that improves color and definition).If you like black, or black-brown mascaras that will give you length, without adding volume, and prefer a rubbery, spiny applicator over a thinner brush or spoolie type applicator, this one is for you. I just place more priority on color because I have none on my natural lashes and black can look too harsh on my fair skin and with my light-colored hair.So, off I go! On my quest for the “perfect” mascara…

Love this mascara
I have very light eyelashes-see photo. This is before and after ONE coat. I’ll never use a different one. I used black here but prefer the brownish black. It’s softer and better for my red headed complexion.It is a little tricky to remove because it’s a tubing mascara but comes off easily with eye makeup remover.

Great Mascara
I’ve been using mascara from luxury brands for years, usually spending 3x or more than the price of Maybelline, so I was hesitant to go back to drugstore mascara. I’ve had expensive mascara that didn’t perform as well as Sky High!This is awesome! It is a little on the wet side, but dries quickly. It was dry when I went back for the second coat, right after I finished my bottom lashes.I have long lashes, so transfer to my upper eyelids is common, but not with Sky High. All day wear without raccoon eyes, easy to remove and non-irratating. The applicator is my favorite size, it gets all my lashes base to tip without clumping!
